Hockey

Once you've learned basic ice skating skills, you can begin taking hockey lessons.

Our hockey lessons, clinics, and camps focus on developing the skills necessary to successfully join a Junior IceHogs hockey league.

Lessons

Young hockey players get started with our Pre-Hockey class to get introduced to the game of hockey. Theyโ€™ll then progress to Minor Hawks to transition towards the Junior IceHogs Fundamental Hockey League.

Full hockey gear required. Please let the hockey staff know if you need assistance. Helmets and skates are also required and available on site, if needed.

Youth and adult lessons available.

Semi-Private Lessons

These sessions are designed to provide very low coach to student ratios, with very individualized lessons, and high level coaching. Click here to submit a request for advanced training.

Skill Enhancement

Our skill enhancement programs help you improve your skating fundamentals to apply to game situations.

In these programs youโ€™ll work on improving your passing, shooting, and stick handling skills.

We also offer tryout prep camps, as well as coach and referee clinics.

Leagues

We offer seasonal leagues year-round for youth as part of our Junior IceHogs program., Adult hockey leagues are also offered year-round. We also offer Fast & Furious 4 on 4 leagues.

  • Scott Burfoot

    General Manager of Ice Facilities

    Scott played hockey at Mercy Hurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Business with a minor in Hospitality Management. Scott has over 25 years of hockey experience, including playing and coaching in minor league hockey.

  • Don Walker

    Hockey Director

    Originally from Franklin, Massachusetts, Don Walker started skating when he was five, and started travel hockey at age eleven. Don has over 34 years of hockey experience, including in the international hockey league and a tryout with the Boston Bruins.

  • Oak Hewer

    Hockey Coordinator

    Originally from Ottawa, Canada, his love of the ice began at age two. He learned how to skate on the longest skating rink in the world, Rideau Canal, which is five miles long. Oak has more than 20 years of hockey experience, including playing minor league hockey, and being drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
